The Bern coffee institution Adrianos has migrated its online presence to Shopify Plus. The foundation was a machine learning analysis of 14 years of order history. It supports data-driven decisions on the product range, product bundles and subscription options.

Challenge
Adrianos runs one of Bern's best-known coffee bars and sells high-quality coffee online. The existing system had grown, but was no longer scalable: more than 10,000 customers, years of transaction data, complex delivery options and a growing B2B business could no longer be managed efficiently in the old setup.
Before the migration, we analysed 14 years of order history with machine learning — purchase patterns, frequencies, product combinations and seasonality. The findings flowed directly into the new architecture: which products to bundle, which subscription variants made sense, and how to structure the range.
Solution
Migration to Shopify Plus with full transfer of customers, products, credit notes and gift vouchers. Product pages were enhanced with Shopify metaobjects — aroma, producers and other coffee details are stored in a structured way and can be maintained at scale.
Based on the ML analysis, new product bundles and subscription variants were developed and integrated directly into the new coffee subscription portal. Regular, automated deliveries run through a dedicated customer portal.
Complex delivery options — bike courier, post, collection — were fully integrated. A separate B2B area with individual terms and prices covers business clients. Barista courses and consultations can now be booked directly via the webshop and managed in the backend.
In addition, dozens of automations support marketing and internal processes.
