For sknife, we built a Shopify store that showcases hand-crafted Swiss knives and cutlery sets in the premium segment as they deserve — including a custom-built top chef database as the centrepiece of brand communication.
Challenge
sknife produces handcrafted Swiss knives and cutlery sets – from steak knives made from surgical steel to fully handcrafted damascus knives, priced from several hundred to over a thousand Swiss francs.
The challenge: an e-commerce shop that does more than describe craftsmanship and premium quality. It must make them tangible. The range is complex (steak knives, damascus knives, pocket knives, specialist knives, special editions) and still has to be quick to navigate. And: the partnership with top chefs and leading restaurants is a core brand asset that had to become visible online.

The shop puts craftsmanship centre stage. High-quality product photography, material presentation and a carefully considered page architecture ensure visitors feel the quality before purchase. UX designed for premium buyers: no distractions, no noise – just the product.
Process integration
For handcrafted products, the shop is never just a shop window. Order processes, delivery times, configurations (engraving, custom orders) and logistics were integrated directly into Shopify.
Top chef database
The knives are represented by leading chefs and top restaurants worldwide as brand ambassadors – including Michelin-starred kitchens. For these partnerships, we built a dedicated database in the shop. All partner restaurants are recorded with links and context – every recommendation from a top chef becomes a visible signal of quality.
