Céleste is an AI sommelier that advises restaurant guests via QR code on the menu and wine list of the restaurant. It provides specific wine and food pairing recommendations, budget planning, and deep knowledge of every wine on the list.

Challenge

Many restaurants – especially businesses without their own sommelier – have good wine lists, but no way to advise guests on wine properly. Staff change often, training is forgotten, and both menus and wine lists change frequently.

The result: guests order on guesswork, drink less than they could, and wine sales remain below potential. At the same time, individual advice from a human sommelier is simply unaffordable for most businesses.

How Céleste works

Guests scan a QR code at the table and go straight into a chat with Céleste – an AI sommelier trained specifically on the menu and wine list of the respective restaurant. Each restaurant has its own Céleste: with its own knowledge, its own tone, and only the wines and dishes that actually exist.

The framework

Like Bilabot and the training bot, Drink with Céleste is based on the framework of Mike Schwede GmbH/Powdience. Each restaurant is trained on its specific menu, wine list and operational context. If the list changes, Céleste is updated.

The approach works particularly well for hotels, city restaurants and chains with changing staff – everywhere that wine advice would be valuable, but no dedicated sommelier is available.
